MaryK Buranosky RN BSN MPH

As a former Navy nurse and military spouse MaryK has lived all over the US and in Japan.  Most of her current experience has been as a school nurse.  Today’s school nurses face daily challenges!  MaryK’s varied employment prepared her well.  She worked many years in Labor & Delivery and postpartum.  She was a home health and hospice nurse.  While active duty in the Navy she went to Operating Room school and worked in cardiac surgery, intensive care and the recovery room.  MaryK also spent many years as an Occupational Health Nurse working first at a cotton mill in South Carolina, and subsequently, at a TRW defense test site, a Kimberly Clark paper products manufacturing facility and a Shell Oil refinery in California.  While her family was stationed in Hawaii she worked for Healthcare for the Homeless.  When orders brought her husband to Washington DC she took a position doing genetic cancer research at NIH in Bethesda.  Health is a dynamic process, and it is important to keep up because the information changes by the minute.  MaryK highly values personal credibility in her profession and emphasizes the importance of preventative health practices whenever possible.   She loves teaching about heath issues and is equally passionate as a student herself. | 407.754.5268
